Possible Causes
Blocked inlet filter screens, Faulty water inlet valve, Low or no mains water pressure, Wiring fault between inlet valve and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water taps before disconnecting hoses.
- 1. Check water supply: Ensure the household tap feeding the washer is fully open. Test water pressure by running a nearby tap; weak flow may indicate a plumbing issue.
- 2. Clean inlet filters: Turn off water, unscrew the inlet hose(s) from the back of the machine, and remove the small mesh filters inside the valve ports. Rinse under running water and remove debris with a soft brush. Refit carefully.
- 3. Inspect inlet hose: Check for kinks, crushing, or internal blockage. Replace if damaged.
- 4. Test inlet valve operation: With the machine unplugged, inspect the water inlet valve for cracks or leaks. If you have a multimeter and skills, check coil resistance against Hoover specifications. A coil that is open-circuit or shorted indicates a bad valve.
- 5. Replace inlet valve: If cleaning filters does not help and the valve tests faulty, replace the complete Hoover water inlet valve assembly.
- 6. Persistent E02: If the valve is good and water supply is fine, the PCB or wiring harness may be defective. This should be diagnosed by a professional.
