Hoover washing machine overfills or shows E04 shortly after starting fill; may attempt to drain immediately.

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply before opening the cabinet.

• 1. Check for visible overfilling: If the drum is excessively full, manually drain via the pump filter before proceeding.
• 2. Inspect pressure hose: Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the bottom side of the tub to the pressure switch (usually at the top). Remove it and blow through it to ensure it is clear. Clean any soap scum or residue from the tub connection.
• 3. Clean pressure chamber: At the tub connection, ensure the small air chamber is not blocked with detergent residue. Carefully scrape or flush it clean.
• 4. Check pressure switch: With the hose removed, gently blow into the switch and listen for clicks. If no click is heard or the switch rattles internally, it may be faulty.
• 5. Inspect inlet valve: If water continues to enter the machine even when unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced immediately.
• 6. Replace faulty parts: Fit a new Hoover-compatible pressure switch or inlet valve as required. Ensure the pressure hose is firmly reattached with no leaks.
• 7. Persistent E04: If all components are clean and functional, the main PCB may be misreading the level signal and should be checked by a professional.
