Possible Causes
Faulty pressure switch, Blocked pressure hose, Over-sudsing causing false level reading, PCB misinterpretation of level signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and avoid opening the door if the drum is full of hot water.
- 1. Check detergent use: Excessive or non-HE detergent can cause over-sudsing and confuse the pressure system. Reduce detergent and run a rinse/spin cycle.
- 2. Inspect pressure hose and chamber: As with E04, remove and clear the small hose and its tub connection of soap residue.
- 3. Test pressure switch: Listen for clicks when gently blowing into the switch. Replace if unresponsive or if resistance readings are out of spec.
- 4. Reset and test: After cleaning and/or replacing the pressure switch, reset power and run a short cycle.
- 5. If E16 persists: The PCB may be faulty and require professional diagnosis and replacement.
