Possible Causes
Shorted drain pump, Faulty pump triac on PCB, Wiring short in pump circuit, PCB track damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Pump and PCB circuits carry mains voltage.
- 1. Inspect pump and wiring: As with E03/E18, check the pump for signs of burning or water ingress. Inspect the wiring harness for damage.
- 2. Test pump resistance: With a multimeter, measure pump coil resistance. A dead short or open circuit indicates a bad pump.
- 3. Replace pump if faulty: Fit a Hoover-compatible drain pump.
- 4. If E23 remains: The PCB pump triac or tracks may be damaged. The main control board will likely need replacement by a technician.
