Possible Causes
Shorted NTC temperature sensor, NTC wiring short to chassis, Moisture in NTC connector, PCB sensor input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool.
- 1. Access NTC sensor: Usually mounted in the heater bracket at the rear or front of the tub. Remove the back panel if necessary.
- 2. Inspect connector: Check for moisture, corrosion, or damaged pins. Dry and clean as needed.
- 3. Test NTC: Measure resistance at room temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace with a Hoover-compatible NTC.
- 4. Check wiring: Inspect the harness from NTC to PCB for crushed or chafed insulation.
- 5. If E25 persists: The PCB sensor circuit may be damaged and require replacement.
