Possible Causes
Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose heater wiring, PCB not energising heater relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool before accessing the heater.
- 1. Confirm with hot program: Run a 60°C cotton cycle and check the door glass after 20–30 minutes. If it remains cold, heating is not working.
- 2. Access heater: Remove the rear panel and locate the heater terminals at the bottom of the tub.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Check for loose or burnt connectors.
- 4. Test heater: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element; replace with a Hoover-compatible heater.
- 5. Test NTC: Measure NTC resistance; replace if open, shorted, or not changing with temperature.
- 6. If heater and NTC are good: The PCB heater relay or control may be faulty and require professional replacement.
