Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and water. Be prepared for water spillage when removing hoses.
F04 indicates the control thinks the tub is overfilled or the pressure switch is stuck in the full position.
- Drain the tub: Use the emergency drain hose or remove the pump filter to empty water into a shallow tray.
- Locate pressure switch: Usually mounted high on the side wall under the top cover, with a small rubber hose going down to the tub or pressure chamber.
- Inspect pressure hose: Remove the hose from the switch and from the tub/pressure chamber. Blow through it; it should be clear. Clean out any soap scum or debris. Replace if kinked, hardened, or split.
- Clean pressure chamber: At the tub end, there is often a small plastic chamber that can clog with detergent residue. Remove and rinse thoroughly under hot water.
- Check switch operation: With the hose removed, gently blow into the pressure switch and listen for clicks. If no clicks or if water has entered the switch, replace the pressure switch.
- Reassemble and test: Refit hose securely, ensuring no kinks. Run a rinse/spin cycle and monitor for recurrence of F04.
If the pressure system is clean and the switch replaced but F04 still appears, the fault may lie on the main PCB input circuit and should be diagnosed by a professional.
