Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before working around the door lock. Do not bypass the door lock for operation.
F17 indicates the control cannot confirm the door is locked.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and the catch engages smoothly. Adjust the door hinge if the door sags and does not align with the lock.
- Inspect door catch: Examine the plastic catch on the door for cracks or wear. Replace if damaged.
- Access door lock: Remove the door seal clamp at the front and peel back the seal to access the door lock. Check that it is firmly screwed to the cabinet and that the connector is fully seated.
- Test interlock: With power off, disconnect the lock and test continuity across the appropriate terminals when the lock is actuated (refer to wiring diagram if available). A lock that never changes state is faulty.
If a new lock does not clear F17, the PCB may not be sending the lock signal and should be checked by a professional.
