- Check drive belt: Remove the rear panel and inspect the belt between the motor and drum pulley. If the belt is off or broken, replace it with the correct Indesit belt and ensure pulleys are aligned.
- Spin drum by hand: With the belt removed, rotate the drum. It should turn smoothly. Grinding, stiffness, or play indicates bearing failure.
- Test motor: Rotate the motor shaft by hand; it should move freely. If seized or very rough, replace the motor.
- Inspect wiring: Check the motor connector and harness for burns or breaks.
