Possible Causes
Unbalanced load detection preventing spin, Worn carbon brushes on motor (brush-type motors), Faulty tachometer sensor, Blocked drain system leaving water in tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor or underside.
- Check load: Ensure the drum is not overloaded or with a single heavy item (e.g. a rug). Redistribute laundry and run a spin-only cycle.
- Verify drainage: If water remains in the drum, clean the pump filter and check the drain hose as described for F05. The machine will not spin at full speed if it detects water present.
- Inspect motor brushes: Remove the rear panel and take off the drive belt. Remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn to less than ~1 cm, replace both brushes with compatible Indesit parts.
- Check tachometer: Ensure the tach sensor on the motor is firmly connected and not damaged.
If brushes and drainage are fine but the machine still refuses to spin, further diagnosis of the control board and motor windings is required.
