Possible Causes
Torn or perished door gasket, Foreign object trapped between seal and glass, Loose or damaged door seal retaining band, Excessive suds foaming over
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off water. Mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping.
- Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the grey rubber gasket all the way around. Look for tears, holes, or splits, especially at the bottom.
- Remove debris: Check the fold of the seal for coins, bra wires, or other objects that can hold the seal open. Remove any debris.
- Check retaining band: Ensure the outer metal or plastic band that holds the seal to the front panel is intact and tight. Refit or replace if loose.
- Detergent use: If you see excessive foam, reduce detergent quantity and use HE (low-suds) detergent suitable for front-loaders.
- Replace seal if damaged: If the gasket is torn, remove the front and inner retaining bands, pull off the old seal, and fit a new Indesit-compatible door gasket, ensuring the drain holes are at the bottom.
