Possible Causes

Loose or split sump hose from tub to pump, Cracked plastic tub or pressure chamber, Leaking inlet hose or valve connection, Perished hose clamps

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off water. Tilt the machine only with assistance to avoid injury.

  • Identify leak source: Remove the rear panel and run a short fill cycle while observing (use a torch). Look for drips from hoses, clamps, or the tub.
  • Check sump hose: Inspect the large black hose from the bottom of the tub to the pump. Tighten or replace clamps and replace the hose if cracked or soft.
  • Inspect inlet connections: Check where the inlet hose connects to the valve and where the valve connects to the dispenser. Tighten connections and replace any leaking seals.
  • Pressure chamber: Examine the small plastic pressure chamber on the side of the tub for cracks; replace if leaking.

A cracked outer tub is expensive to replace and may not be economical; consult a technician for assessment.
