Possible Causes
Coins or small objects in drum lifters, Bra wire between drum and tub, Debris in pump housing, Loose drum lifter (paddle)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before reaching inside the drum or pump area.
- Inspect drum: Check inside the drum for loose items. Gently run your fingers along the holes to feel for protruding wires.
- Check drum lifters: Inspect plastic paddles inside the drum. If loose, they may rattle. Many can be removed by sliding and lifting to check for trapped objects underneath.
- Clean pump: Remove the pump filter and check for coins or hard objects that can rattle when the pump runs.
- Access gap: If a bra wire is suspected between drum and tub, it can sometimes be retrieved via the heater opening or sump hose connection.
