How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer. Do not place hands under a rocking machine while it is running.

Check transit bolts: For recently installed machines, ensure all rear transit bolts and packing have been removed according to the Indesit installation manual.
Level the machine: Adjust the front and rear feet so the washer is level and stable. Use a spirit level and lock the feet in place.
Inspect shock absorbers: Remove the rear or front lower panel and inspect the dampers attached between the tub and base. If oil is leaking or they move too freely, replace them in pairs.
Check suspension springs: From the top, inspect the springs holding the tub. Replace any that are stretched or broken.
Load distribution: Avoid washing single heavy items; mix with other garments to balance the load.

Washer makes loud banging or knocking noises during spin; machine may move or "walk" across the floor.
