Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Unplug the washer and leave it disconnected until the fault is found.
- Visual inspection: Remove rear and top panels and look for obvious water leaks, burnt wiring, or scorch marks.
- Check heater: Disconnect the heater and try running a cold cycle. If the machine no longer trips, the heater is likely leaking to earth and should be replaced.
- Inspect mains cable: Check the power cord for cuts or crushed sections. Replace if damaged.
- Check motor and pump: Look for water on or around the motor and pump. Dry thoroughly and fix any leaks before retesting.
Earth leakage testing ideally requires an insulation tester. If you are not equipped or experienced, have a qualified electrician or appliance technician diagnose the fault.
