Possible Causes

Blocked pressure switch hose, Defective pressure switch (water level sensor), Stuck-open water inlet valve, Faulty main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and close water supply valves. If the tub is overfilled, manually bail out water to below door level before service.

Steps to check and correct:

  • Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top panel to access the pressure switch. Follow the small rubber hose from the tub/air dome to the switch. Check for kinks, cracks, or blockages (soap residue, lint). Blow gently through the hose to confirm it is clear.
  • Check the pressure switch: With the hose removed, gently blow into the switch and listen for clicks. Use a multimeter to verify contact changes according to IPSO specs. No switching indicates a faulty switch.
  • Examine inlet valve: With water supply turned off, disconnect the power connector from the inlet valve. If the valve continues to pass water when supply is turned back on, the valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Inspect wiring: Verify secure connections between the pressure switch and main control board.
  • Test operation: After clearing the hose and verifying the switch, reconnect everything, restore power and water, and run a test fill. If E04 recurs, replace the pressure switch first; if still unresolved, the main control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
