Possible Causes
Worn tact switches on user interface PCB, Cracked control panel overlay, Moisture or detergent ingress, Loose ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel.
Steps to check and correct:
- Inspect overlay: Check for cracks or warping that may prevent proper button travel.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the UI and main board.
- Test switches: With the UI PCB exposed, use a multimeter to test the suspect tact switches for proper contact when pressed.
- Replace UI PCB: If switches are worn or corroded, replace the entire user interface board with the correct IPSO part.
- Reassemble and test: Confirm all buttons respond correctly in normal and diagnostic modes.
