Possible Causes
Door not fully closed, Faulty Start button on user interface, Door lock not engaging, Control board input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel or door lock.
Steps to check and correct:
- Confirm door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear the latch click. Check for obstructions around the door seal.
- Check for lock indicator: On many IPSO models, a lock icon or LED should light when the door locks. If not, suspect the door lock assembly.
- Test Start button: Enter diagnostic mode if available and test button inputs, or use a multimeter to check the Start button contacts on the UI PCB.
- Inspect door lock: Test the lock coil and door-closed contacts as described in door lock faults. Replace if defective.
- Re-test: After replacing faulty components, power up and attempt to start a cycle. If the issue persists, the main control board may not be recognizing inputs and may need replacement.
