Washer stops and displays F03; may not advance past fill or may drain immediately after filling.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer before accessing internal components. Water may be present in the tub.
Step-by-step checks:
- Run a cold-only cycle: Select a cold wash and see if the error appears immediately. If it appears only on warm/hot, suspect the NTC or its circuit.
- Access the NTC: Remove the rear panel. The temperature sensor is usually mounted in the heater housing or directly in the outer tub near the heater terminals.
- Inspect wiring: Check the connector at the NTC for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Test the sensor: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~20–25°C / 68–77°F), most NTCs read around 10–15 kΩ (check your service manual for exact spec). Resistance should decrease smoothly as temperature increases.
- Check continuity to control: If the NTC tests good, check continuity of the harness from the NTC to the main control board.
When to replace: Replace the temperature sensor if its resistance is open, shorted, or far outside spec. If sensor and wiring are good, the main control board may be defective.
