Possible Causes

Faulty door lock (interlock) assembly, Misaligned door latch hook, Broken door handle or latch, Wiring issue between door lock and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer before working on the door lock. Do not bypass the door lock for operation.

  • Check door closure: Ensure no clothing is trapped between the door gasket and the door. Firmly close the door until you hear a positive click.
  • Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal or plastic latch hook on the door and the strike opening on the cabinet. Look for cracks, bending, or misalignment. Adjust hinges or replace damaged parts.
  • Test door lock operation: With power off, remove the front panel or door seal clamp to access the door lock assembly. Check that the wiring connector is fully seated. If the lock smells burnt or rattles internally, replace it.
  • Advanced electrical check: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the lock’s solenoid terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed lock. Also inspect the harness from the lock to the main control board for pin damage or breaks.

If the door lock and wiring are good, the main control board may not be sending the lock signal and should be tested by a professional.
