Possible Causes

Defective cold water inlet valve coil, Loose wiring to cold valve, Blocked cold inlet filter, Low mains water pressure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap.

  • Check cold water supply: Ensure the cold tap feeding the washer has good pressure. Clean the filter screen in the cold inlet hose and valve port.
  • Inspect hose and valve: Confirm the cold hose is connected to the correct tap and not kinked. Remove the top cover (Torx screws at rear) to access the inlet valve block.
  • Check wiring: With power still off, verify that the cold valve connector is fully seated and not burnt.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and start a cycle. If F12 reappears, the cold valve coil is likely faulty and the valve block should be replaced.

Work on live components should only be done by qualified persons. If unsure, call a Miele technician.
