Possible Causes
Failed heater element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose heater wiring, Defective electronic control module (ELP/ELPWA)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Heating components operate at mains voltage.
- Run a hot program: Confirm that the machine never warms up and F14 appears. Note any tripping of breakers.
- Access heater terminals: Remove rear or front lower panel (model dependent) to locate the heater at the bottom of the drum. Inspect for burnt connectors or signs of leakage.
- Basic check: Ensure connectors are firmly attached to the heater and NTC sensor. Do not touch bare terminals with power connected.
- Advanced (meter required): With power off, measure resistance of the heater and NTC. An open-circuit heater or shorted sensor indicates replacement is needed.
Because of shock risk and the need for accurate testing, heating faults are best handled by a qualified technician.
