Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor.

  • Check load and balance: Ensure the drum is not overloaded or severely unbalanced. Remove heavy items and retry.
  • Inspect motor connections: Remove rear panel, locate the drive motor, and check that the multi-pin connector is fully seated.
  • Brush inspection (if fitted): On older Miele models with brushed motors, remove the motor and inspect carbon brushes for wear (shorter than ~1 cm). Replace as a set if worn.
