Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on motor (if brush motor), Open motor winding, Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose or damaged motor wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor or underside. Beware of sharp cabinet edges.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. If seized or very stiff, suspect bearing or mechanical issues rather than E06 alone.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel. Take off the drive belt from the motor pulley and drum pulley.
- Inspect wiring: Check the motor connector and harness for damage or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Check brushes (if applicable): On brush-type Primus motors, remove the brush holders and inspect carbon length. If they are worn down to a few millimeters, replace both brushes as a set.
- Test tachometer: Inspect the tachometer coil at the rear of the motor. Ensure it is firmly attached and not cracked. Measure resistance; an open circuit indicates failure.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the belt, ensuring correct tension, reassemble the rear panel, restore power, and run a spin test. If E06 persists, the inverter or main control PCB may require professional service.
