Possible Causes
Failed door lock interlock mechanism, Broken door handle or latch hook, Wiring fault to door lock, Control PCB not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Ensure the drum is not full of hot water before attempting manual release.
- Wait for delay: Many Primus models have a safety delay of 1–3 minutes after cycle end. Wait this period to see if the lock releases.
- Manual release: Access the emergency door release (often a pull cord near the pump filter behind the lower front panel). Pull gently to mechanically unlock the door.
- Inspect latch and handle: Once open, check the door hook and handle for cracks or deformation. Replace if damaged.
- Check door lock: Remove the door seal clamp and access the door lock. Inspect for burn marks or broken plastic. Test continuity of the lock coil with a multimeter; replace if open.
- Reassemble and test: Fit the new lock, reconnect wiring, reinstall the seal, and run a short cycle to confirm proper locking and unlocking.
