Possible Causes
Loose tachometer sensor on motor, Broken tachometer magnet, Damaged tachometer wiring, Faulty main control PCB speed input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel and locate the tachometer sensor at the rear of the motor shaft.
- Inspect sensor and magnet: Ensure the tach sensor is firmly mounted and the magnet ring is intact and not cracked or loose.
- Check wiring: Follow the tach wires to the main harness. Look for breaks or chafing. Repair or replace as needed.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the tach coil; compare with Primus specifications. An open circuit indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace tachometer or motor: If the tach is not separately replaceable on your motor type, the entire motor assembly may need replacement.
- Re-test spin: After repair, run a spin-only cycle to confirm correct speed and that E20 is cleared.
