Possible Causes
Swollen or warped door seal pressing on latch, Mechanical failure inside door lock, Residual water level not fully drained, Control not receiving end-of-cycle signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Ensure water inside is not scalding hot before attempting manual release.
- Wait safety delay: Allow 2–5 minutes after cycle end for the lock to release automatically.
- Check for water in drum: If water remains, run a drain/spin cycle. A full drum will keep the door locked.
- Manual release: Use the emergency release cord near the pump filter (if fitted) to open the door.
- Inspect door lock and seal: Once open, check for deformation of the seal or latch. Replace the door lock if it jams mechanically.
