Possible Causes
Torn or worn door seal gasket, Foreign object trapped between seal and drum, Loose door seal retaining clamp, Excessive suds causing overflow at door
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
- Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber gasket. Look for tears, holes, or splits, especially at the bottom.
- Remove debris: Check the gap between the drum and seal for coins, bra wires, or other sharp objects. Remove any foreign items.
- Check clamps: Gently pull the seal where it meets the front panel. If it feels loose, the outer retaining band may have slipped. Remove the band, reposition the seal lip, and refit the band securely.
- Control suds: Ensure you are using HE (low-suds) detergent in the correct quantity. Over-sudsing can cause foam to leak from the door.
- Replace seal if damaged: If the gasket is torn, remove the outer and inner retaining bands, pull off the old seal, and fit a new Primus door seal gasket, aligning the drain holes at the bottom.
