Possible Causes
Cracked tub-to-pump hose, Loose hose clamp at pump or tub, Leaking drain pump housing or seal, Split external drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and close water taps. Expect water in the base when opening panels.
- Access underside: Remove the rear or lower front panel to view the pump and hoses.
- Run a short drain test: With panels removed (and keeping clear of moving parts), briefly run a drain cycle to see where water emerges.
- Inspect hoses: Check the large black tub-to-pump hose and the pump-to-drain hose for cracks, pinholes, or loose clamps. Replace damaged hoses and tighten clamps.
- Check pump body: Look for leaks around the pump seam or shaft. If water seeps from the pump housing, replace the drain pump assembly.
- Verify external hose: Inspect the external drain hose all the way to the standpipe or sink for splits or abrasion.
