Possible Causes
Failed shift actuator, Jammed splutch mechanism, Wiring harness damage to actuator, Control not driving actuator correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer and lay it carefully on its back to access the bottom.
- Step 1 – Locate actuator: The shift actuator is mounted on the side of the gearcase and connects to the splutch assembly.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Check the actuator connector and harness for damage or loose pins. Reseat the connector.
- Step 3 – Check splutch movement: Manually move the splutch cam (if accessible) to ensure it is not jammed by debris.
- Step 4 – Replace actuator if faulty: Remove mounting screws, disconnect the harness, install the new actuator, and reassemble.
After replacement, run a diagnostic cycle to verify proper shifting between agitate and spin.
