How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer and be prepared for water spillage when opening hoses.
- Step 1 – Check drain hose: Ensure the hose is not kinked or frozen. Remove from standpipe and blow through to check for blockage.
- Step 2 – Access pump and hoses: Remove lower front panel or tilt washer to access pump. Remove tub-to-pump hose and inspect for socks, coins, or debris.
- Step 3 – Inspect pump impeller: Remove pump inlet and outlet hoses, then check that the impeller spins freely and is not broken.
- Step 4 – Replace pump if needed: If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent and tests open electrically, install a new drain pump.
