Possible Causes
Door lock mechanism jammed, Control not sending unlock signal, Broken door handle or latch, Residual water level in tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer before attempting manual release. Do not force the door open with tools that can damage the seal or glass.
- Step 1 – Wait a few minutes: Some models delay door unlock for safety. Wait 3–5 minutes after cycle end.
- Step 2 – Check for water in tub: If water remains, run a Drain & Spin (if possible) to remove it; the door will not unlock with water present.
- Step 3 – Manual release: Access the door lock from the front lower panel or gasket area and pull the manual release tab (if provided).
- Step 4 – Inspect lock and handle: Replace a faulty door lock assembly or broken handle/latch.
