Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump filter, Clogged drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object jammed in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water may spill when opening the filter; keep towels and a shallow tray ready.
Step-by-step checks:
- Access the pump filter: Open the lower front service flap (if present). Place a tray under the filter cap. Slowly unscrew the cap to let water drain out in a controlled way.
- Clean the filter: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and the pump cavity. Check that the pump impeller turns freely by hand; it should rotate with slight resistance but not be jammed.
- Inspect the drain hose: Follow the drain hose from the back of the washer to the standpipe or sink. Ensure it is not kinked, crushed, or blocked. Detach the hose and flush it with water if necessary.
- Check for internal blockages: If E03 persists, remove the rear or bottom panel (depending on model) to access the full drain circuit. Inspect the sump hose from the tub to the pump for socks or small garments lodged inside.
- Test/replace the drain pump: With power disconnected, check the pump wiring connector. If you have a multimeter, test the pump coil for continuity. An open circuit or burnt smell indicates a failed pump. Replace with a compatible Rosières drain pump assembly, ensuring seals and clamps are correctly refitted to prevent leaks.
Warning: Do not run the washer with the filter removed; this can cause flooding and damage.
