Possible Causes

Open-circuit heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Burnt wiring or connector at heater, Defective main control board relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow time for any hot water to cool before working near the heater.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Access the heater: On most Rosières washers, the heater is mounted at the bottom of the rear of the tub. Remove the rear panel to expose the heater terminals and wiring.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors, loose spades, or damaged insulation at the heater and NTC sensor. Reseat any loose connectors.
  • Test the heating element: Using a multimeter on resistance mode, measure across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. An open circuit (infinite resistance) means the element is faulty and must be replaced.
  • Check for earth leakage: Measure between each heater terminal and the metal chassis; any low resistance indicates insulation failure and requires replacement.
  • Test the NTC sensor: The NTC is usually clipped into the heater bracket or tub. Measure its resistance at room temperature (commonly 20–30 kΩ, depending on model). If it reads open, shorted, or does not change with temperature, replace it.
  • Replace components: To replace the heater, remove the central nut, push the bolt inward to release the seal, and gently pry the element out. Clean the seat and fit the new heater, tightening the nut evenly to avoid leaks.

Warning: After heater replacement, run a short cycle and check carefully for leaks at the heater seal.
