Step-by-step checks:
- Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. The motor is mounted under the drum, driven by a belt. Remove the belt to inspect the motor freely.
- Inspect wiring: Check the multi-pin connector at the motor for corrosion, burning, or loose pins. Follow the harness toward the PCB for any cuts or crushed sections.
- Check tachometer coil: On many Rosières motors, the tachometer is a small coil at the rear of the motor shaft. Ensure it is firmly attached and not cracked. If you have a multimeter, measure its resistance (typically a few hundred ohms). An open circuit indicates failure.
- Inspect motor brushes (if fitted): On brushed motors, remove the brush holders and check carbon length. If brushes are worn below ~1 cm or uneven, replace both with compatible Rosières motor brushes.
- Reassemble and test: Refit brushes, reconnect the motor, and reinstall the belt. Spin the drum by hand to ensure smooth rotation. Plug in and run a spin-only cycle to test.
Note: If the tachometer and brushes are good but E06 persists, the motor control section of the PCB may be defective and usually requires professional replacement.
