Possible Causes

Hot and cold hoses reversed, Extremely high hot water temperature from heater, Faulty thermistor/temperature sensor, Control board misreading temperature

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply before handling hoses.

  • Check hose connections: Confirm the hot hose is connected to the hot tap and the hot inlet on the washer (usually marked red), and cold to cold (blue). Swap if reversed.
  • Measure hot water temperature: Run hot water at a nearby faucet and measure with a thermometer. It should typically be below 140°F (60°C). If much higher, lower your water heater setting.
  • Run a cold-only cycle: Set the washer to a cold wash. If the error disappears, the issue is likely with hot water supply or temperature sensor.
  • Sensor check: If error persists even on cold, the water temperature sensor (thermistor) in the tub or heater assembly may be faulty and should be tested with a multimeter and replaced if out of spec.
