How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the drain filter.
- Clean filter and pump: Follow the same steps as for 5C: open access door, drain residual water, remove and clean the filter, and check the pump impeller.
- Check standpipe height: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height per Samsung manual (usually 24–35 inches). Too low can cause siphoning issues.
- Electrical test: If you have a multimeter and skills, test the drain pump for continuity. Replace if open or shorted.
- Persistent 5E: Replace the drain pump assembly or contact a professional if you are not comfortable removing panels.
