Possible Causes
Door lock mechanism jammed, Broken lock actuator, Control board not releasing lock, Moisture intrusion into lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open with excessive strength.
- Wait and reset: Allow 2–3 minutes for the lock to release after power off. Plug back in and try to start or cancel a cycle.
- Emergency release: Use the manual door release (usually a pull cord near the drain filter) to open the door if clothes are trapped.
- Inspect lock: Access the door lock assembly, check for signs of burning, corrosion, or mechanical damage.
- Replace lock: Install a new OEM door lock if the mechanism is faulty. If a new lock does not resolve the issue, the main PCB may need diagnosis.
