Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply taps and unplug the washer before disconnecting hoses.
Steps to check and address E02:
- Verify water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps (if used) are fully open and that other faucets in the home have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the washer forward slightly. Check that the inlet hoses are not kinked, crushed, or twisted behind the machine.
- Clean inlet filters: Turn off taps, unscrew the hoses from the back of the washer, and remove the small mesh filters from the Siemens inlet valve ports. Rinse them under running water to remove grit and limescale, then reinstall.
- Check hose screens and flow: Inspect hose ends for debris. Briefly open the tap with the hose end in a bucket to confirm strong water flow.
- Test the inlet valve: If water supply and filters are fine but E02 persists, the inlet valve coil may be faulty. With power disconnected, remove the top cover, locate the inlet valve, and check coil resistance with a multimeter. Replace the valve assembly if open or out of spec.
When to call a technician: If the valve tests good and there is proper water pressure, the control module may not be energizing the valve and requires professional diagnosis.
