This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before testing electrical components.
Steps to check and address E12:
- Run a maintenance wash: Run a 90 °C empty cycle with a descaling agent suitable for washing machines to remove limescale from the heater and tub.
- Check water level: Ensure the machine is not underfilling (see E04 checks for pressure hose and switch).
- Test heater and NTC: As in E05, verify heater resistance and NTC sensor values. Replace any component out of spec.
When to call a technician: Persistent E12 after descaling and component checks suggests a control module calibration or fault that should be handled by Siemens service.
