- Clean pump filter: Open the lower service flap, drain residual water via emergency hose (if present), then unscrew and remove the pump filter. Clear all debris.
- Check pump impeller: Ensure the impeller spins freely and is not jammed by objects like hairpins or coins.
- Inspect drain hose: Verify the external drain hose is not kinked or blocked. Detach and flush with water if needed.
- Check sump hose: From underneath or front (depending on model), inspect the large hose from tub to pump for blockages (socks, cloths). Remove and clean if necessary.
- Test pump operation: Reassemble, plug in, and run a drain program. If the pump hums but does not pump, or is silent, replace the drain pump.
