Washer displays dU and will not start or advance; lid remains unlocked when it should lock.

• 1. Verify lid closes properly: Check that the lid sits flat and the hinges are not bent. A twisted lid can prevent the switch from sensing closed position.
• 2. Inspect lid strike alignment: Ensure the lid strike lines up with the opening in the lid lock. Adjust hinges or replace the strike if needed.
• 3. Access lid lock: Unplug the washer. Remove the top panel or front console to reach the lid lock assembly. Inspect for cracks, moisture intrusion, or corrosion.
• 4. Check wiring harness: Confirm the connector is fully seated at the lid lock and at the control board. Look for broken conductors or burned pins. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
• 5. Test switch function: With a multimeter, test continuity of the lid-closed switch inside the lock (refer to service manual pinout). If it does not change state when the lid is closed, replace the lid lock assembly.
• 6. Control board evaluation: If the lid lock and wiring are good but dU persists, the main control board may not be reading the switch signal correctly. This usually requires board replacement by a qualified technician.
