Possible Causes

Closed or partially closed household water valves, Clogged inlet screens on water inlet valve, Failed hot or cold water inlet valve coil, Kinked or frozen inlet hoses

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before disconnecting hoses.

  • 1. Check household valves: Confirm both hot and cold faucets feeding the washer are fully open. Verify water pressure at a nearby sink.
  • 2. Inspect hoses: Pull the washer forward. Look for kinks, sharp bends, or pinched hoses. Straighten or replace as needed.
  • 3. Clean inlet screens: Turn off water. Remove the hoses from the back of the washer. Inside the valve ports are small screens; remove debris with a small brush and rinse. Do not puncture the screens.
  • 4. Test fill function: Reconnect hoses, turn water back on, and run a fill test. If one temperature does not fill, suspect that side of the valve.
  • 5. Check valve coils: Unplug the washer, access the water inlet valve, and test coil resistance with a multimeter. An open coil indicates a bad valve. Replace the entire water inlet valve assembly if any coil is defective.
  • 6. Control or pressure sensor: If the valve and water supply are good but nF persists, the control board or pressure sensor may be misreading fill. This typically requires professional diagnosis.
