Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Zanussi washer and turn off the water supply taps before working on hoses or valves.
- Check household water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps feeding the washer are fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure.
- Clean inlet filters: Turn off water, disconnect the inlet hose(s) from the rear of the machine, and remove the small mesh filters inside the valve ports. Rinse under running water and scrub gently with a soft brush to remove limescale or debris. Refit securely.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Check for kinks, crushing behind the machine, or internal blockage. Straighten or replace hoses if damaged.
- Check pressure switch hose: Remove the top cover, locate the thin pressure hose from the drum/air chamber to the pressure switch. Ensure it is not kinked, split, or blocked with soap residue. Clean or replace as needed.
- Test water inlet valve: With power disconnected, access the valve at the rear. Check coil resistance with a multimeter; if open circuit or shorted, replace the complete water inlet valve assembly.
If E10 persists after these checks and water pressure is normal, the electronic control board may be faulty and a professional technician should diagnose further.
