Possible Causes
Blocked auxiliary inlet valve for drying circuit, Clogged condenser unit (washer-dryer), Faulty NTC temperature sensor in drying system, Wiring fault to drying valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully before accessing any drying components.
- Clean condenser (washer-dryer models): If your Zanussi is a washer-dryer with a serviceable condenser, remove the access panel and rinse the condenser under running water to clear lint and scale. Let it dry and reinstall.
- Check auxiliary inlet valve: Access the top rear area and locate the smaller valve feeding the drying system. Inspect for clogged filters and test coil resistance. Replace the valve if the coil is open or the valve is stuck.
- Inspect wiring: Check harness connections from the main PCB to the drying valve and NTC sensor for loose plugs, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Test drying NTC sensor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare with service data (typically around 20 kΩ at 25°C, but refer to Zanussi specs). Replace the NTC if readings are out of range or unstable.
Persistent E12 faults usually require professional diagnosis of the control board and full drying circuit.
