Possible Causes

Faulty drain pump, Burnt triac on main PCB, Broken wiring harness between PCB and pump, Connector damage at pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer before testing electrical components.

  • Verify pump continuity: Access the drain pump and disconnect its plug. Measure resistance across the pump terminals. If open circuit, replace the pump.
  • Check harness and connectors: Trace the wiring from the pump back to the main control board. Look for chafed insulation, broken conductors, or burnt connectors. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Visual PCB inspection: Remove the control board housing and inspect the pump drive area for burnt spots or cracked solder joints. Do not attempt component-level repair unless qualified; usually the entire PCB is replaced.

If the pump and wiring are sound, E23 almost always indicates a failed control board triac. Replacement of the main PCB is recommended and should be done by a qualified technician.
