Possible Causes
Faulty tachometer coil on motor, Loose tachometer magnet, Broken tachometer wiring, Defective PCB tach input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and remove the rear panel to access the motor.
- Inspect tachometer: On the rear of the motor, check that the tachometer sensor is firmly attached and that the magnet ring on the shaft is intact.
- Test tach coil: Measure resistance across the tachometer terminals; an open circuit indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced (often by replacing the motor assembly).
- Check wiring: Trace the tachometer wires back to the PCB for breaks or loose connectors.
If the tachometer and wiring are good, E52 points to a faulty control board, which should be replaced by a technician.
