A.O. Smith hybrid water heater shows E25; unit may shut down heat pump operation

Safety: Turn off power. Be prepared for water when opening the condensate pan.

• 1. Inspect condensate pan: Remove the front panel and check the pan under the evaporator coil. If full, the drain is blocked.
• 2. Clear drain line: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the drain outlet to remove clogs. Flush the line with water and ensure proper slope.
• 3. Check condensate pump: If a pump is installed, verify it runs when the float rises. Replace the pump if it is inoperative.
• 4. Reset float switch: Once water level is lowered, the float switch should close and clear E25.
