Possible Causes
Low or high mains voltage to ACV water heater, Loose mains terminal connections, Internal power supply fault on main PCB, Shared circuit overloaded
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Work on mains wiring only if you are qualified. Always isolate power at the breaker.
- 1. Check supply voltage: Measure mains voltage at the heater's terminal block. It should match the rating plate (typically 230 V ±10%).
- 2. Inspect terminals: With power off, tighten all live, neutral, and earth connections. Look for signs of overheating or discoloration.
- 3. Dedicated circuit: Ensure the heater is on an appropriately rated circuit and not sharing with heavy loads that cause voltage dips.
- 4. Reset: After correcting any supply issues, power cycle the unit and check if E16 clears.
- 5. PCB power supply: If mains is stable but E16 persists, the internal power supply on the main PCB may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
Persistent voltage issues should be investigated by an electrician.
