Possible Causes
Loose hot or cold nipple, Failed dielectric union, Cracked Alpha plastic top cover fittings, Deteriorated pipe sealant
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF power and close the cold water supply. Allow the unit to cool.
- Dry and inspect: Wipe the top of the Alpha heater dry and observe where water reappears.
- Tighten connections: Use a wrench to snug the hot and cold nipples and any unions. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Reseal threads: If leaking persists, drain the system enough to remove the leaking fitting, apply fresh thread sealant or Teflon tape, and reinstall.
- Replace cracked parts: Replace any cracked Alpha top cover fittings or dielectric unions.
After repair, slowly refill and check for leaks before restoring power.
